MO3 (Mother of 3, aka Mi'gmaq interdisciplinary artist Phyllis Grant) is from Pabineau First Nation, NB, Canada. She began her music career in 2003 as a member of ECMA nominated Red Suga. She has performed across Canada and in the US, and released a cd in 2008 titled Up Risin'. It was nominated for an East Coast Music Award in 2009. This was her second ECMA nomination, the first being an industry nomination for Manager of the Year in 2004. MO3's lyrics and music was used for television and published in poetry collections. She has performed both rap and spoken word performances at countless venues for over two decades. A re-issue of Up Risin' was released in 2023 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop.
