Moa is a band from Charlotte, North Carolina, known for their ethereal, dream-like sound. Their debut album, Collider, is a cinematic collection of songs featuring David Driscoll on guitar, Lindsey Ryan as vocalist and keyboardist, and drummer Chris Walldorf adding swaths of ambient electronic sounds. Bassist Claudio Ortiz joined the band in 2018.
Their soundscape is haunting and vast, often morphing dissonance and darkness with a delicate and quiet resolve. Music journalist Pat Moran writes, “Moa’s music is like diving into a bottomless well only to discover you’re floating untethered in a sky full of stars.” NPR's Joni Deutsch describes the band as "a lovely, dark and deep tour of musical ambience."
Moa’s song, “Under Your Skin,” is featured in the 2021 docuseries, Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer, streaming now on Netflix. They are currently underway working on their sophomore follow-up.
