Founded in the 1990s, this five-piece band is known for their mix of diverse musical influences, ranging from alternative rock and funk rock to grunge and indie. Moby Dickhead gained recognition after their breakthrough (semi-finals) in Humo's Rock Rally in 1994. In 1995, they released a demo recorded at the Super8Trash Studio in Ghent, followed by numerous performances throughout Flanders.

Despite (or perhaps thanks to) their breakup in 1998, the band members remained best friends. After individual musical journeys it was high time to pick up where they left off. What was intended as a one-off reunion concert in 2024 left them wanting (much) more.

Moby Dickhead is working on a first official full release and regularly camps out in the Closed Session recording studio in Roeselare. Since no official releases were ever put out before, this debut will essentially be a kind of "best of" compilation—featuring material that has stood the test of time and natural selection over the years.

The name "Moby Dickhead" may have started as a teenage joke, but it's one the band members now proudly stick to. It’s part of their identity and history and reflects their quirky personalities and humor. The name is memorable and aligns perfectly with their blend of musical influences and creative style.
