Modern Stars, an Italian neo-psych rock band formed by Andrea Merolle, Barbara Margani, and Andrea Sperduti, showcases a unique musical style characterized as instinctive, flickering, fuzzy, aerial, groovy, bizarre, distorted, harmonious, and dissonant. Influenced by bands like Spacemen 3, Primal Scream, Suicide, and lesser-known musicians, they welcomed Mario Bruni from John Canoe as their bass player in 2023. Having released their debut album "Silver Needles" in 2020 and sophomore album "PsychIndustrial" in 2021 through Miacameretta Records, Modern Stars gained recognition in the neo-psych genre on Bandcamp. Their third studio work, "Space Trips for the Masses," released in 2022 via Little Cloud Records, received acclaim as one of the best psych albums of the year in various fanzines. The band is set to release their upcoming album, "Termination," on March 1, 2024, through Little Cloud Records, Sister 9 Records, and Clostridium Records. This album draws inspiration from the halting problem in computer theory, addressing the undecidable problem of determining whether a computer program will finish running or continue indefinitely based on its description and input.
