Born into a lineage of musicians who fled Cold War Poland, Mokotow has long lived between worlds—an artist defined by solitude, defiance, and the quiet clarity that comes from standing at the edges.

He first emerged as frontman of <a href="spotify:artist:2Vyzo8PGWTQIorhrBWig6G" data-name="Butchers of Sky Valley">Butchers of Sky Valley</a>, a bombastic blues rock outfit with a cinematic streak. His solo debut <a href="spotify:album:2VaV45giJtj9A31hyBQoL4" data-name="Domino">Domino</a>, written and recorded in his attic studio and mixed by Jeff Berner (<a href="spotify:artist:2aBdKyqYmbMAxMFCujJSqw" data-name="Shilpa Ray">Shilpa Ray</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3oi0s3WIuxBU5oh87n7za2" data-name="Psychic TV">Psychic TV</a>), marked a stark left turn: ghostly hymns, raw arrangements, and a voice that doesn’t perform so much as reckon.

Now releasing under the Mokotow mononym, his latest project Tales From Lonely Mountain, starting with “Carousel Blues”, trades volume for presence, embracing stillness and restraint. Written for the quiet between seasons. For when presence matters more than pace.
