Friends since childhood, award winning Canadian musicians and multi-instrumentalists,
Jonathan Chan and Jan Bislin, founded Momento while completing a Masters in Performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. They have performed all over Europe, North America, China and Saudi Arabia as an acoustic and electronic violin duo.
Jan and Jon both come from an intense classical upbringing and their music often
displays such influences. Self described as genre fluid producers, they construct their
sets with the sole intent of creating a multifaceted journey filled with emotional twists
and turns. Momento’s set-up includes acoustic and electric violins, synthesizers, sample pads
and a loop station to create an original, immersive and compelling show.
Gaining popularity on the live circuit and online as regular headliners for the music streaming platform Sofar Sounds, the duo have amassed over 1 million views on Youtube and performed as support acts for James Blunt and Stefanie Heinzmann while collaborating with Olympic champion figure skaters at the 2019 Art On Ice tour. They have also supported renown artists like Tim Minchin, John Legend, Norah Jones, Dynamo and Gary Barlow, across various UK and international tours. Other notable performances include events hosted by The Old Vic, UEFA, Cartier, Bloomberg, Robb Report and many others in addition to recording strings and working with artists like Ella Eyre, Gabrielle Aplin, RAYE, and Riton to name a few.
