Heavy psychedelic / progressive rock band Mondo Drag was formed in Davenport, Iowa. The group released its debut album, New Rituals, on Alive Naturalsound Records on January 26, 2010.
Their equally trippy, seven-track follow-up features Zack Anderson on bass and Cory Berry on drums, both former members of Radio Moscow and founders of Blues Pills.
Between the recording of the album in 2012 and its release on Kozmik Artifactz in Spring 2015, the band relocated to Oakland, CA where a third rhythm section of bassist Andrew O'Neil and drummer Ventura Garcia joined the band.
Shortly after the release of the self-titled album, the band signed to RidingEasy Records where they quickly released the album stateside and began working on their next LP, The Occultation Of Light.
The Occultation Of Light was recorded in San Francisco, CA and released February 25, 2016. Following the release, the band heavily toured the US and Europe in support of it.
After a years long hiatus due to covid and personnel changes, the band has announce the release of their fourth studio album "Through The Hourglass" which will be released September 15, 2023 on RidingEasy Records.
