What started out in Enschede, The Netherlands, in 2014 as an excuse for having a beer and a laugh, has developed into a serious award winning rock & roll band.
Soon after these six friends first started playing rock & roll together, they were touring pubs and festivals, playing tirelessly and developed a style of their own, deriving from raw blues and rock & roll.
Having covered all corners of blues and rock 'n roll, these musicians now effortlessly blend every cord that ever influenced their music into a new and refreshing sound: bluesrock & roll.
Monkey Clan officially became a top rated band in the Dutch music scene when they received the People's Choice Award at "de Grote Prijs van Twente" in 2017 and the prestigious Hootchie Koe Award in 2018.
This gave Monkey Clan national fame and an excellent reputation as live performers. Which is a problem, since they may have to take things a little more seriously now...
So the Monkey Clan now smile less and write songs about more serious themes such as tragedy,
death, life, hate, love, revenge, naked women and how to get on a magic ride.
The band even developed a philosophy: their goal is to play as many live shows as possible and spend their time on stage rather than in rehearsal.
