MONOMONO crafts immersive sonic worlds where electro-acoustic textures, classical elements, and techno converge. The duo — violinist and sound designer Hester-1, and musician, composer, and visual artist Anne van de Star — blends raw, synthetic sound art with hypnotic rhythms, poetic fragments, and dark, pulsating walls of sound.
Their work moves fluidly between electronic composition, multimedia installations, and commissions for film, theatre, and video games. They have been artists in residence at TRIX (Antwerp, Belgium), Gold Records Studio (Copenhagen, Denmark), and Tiyatro İkincikat (Istanbul, Turkey). They recently performed at techno club Hall during Tallinn Music Week and at Playtime Festival in Bruges Royal Municipal Theatre.
