Born only a few hundred meters apart in the east of Switzerland, Matt Monroe and Lea Leone unknowingly carried their music across continents before colliding in a dim Manhattan karaoke bar. Matt’s raw, unfiltered sound, shaped in the heart of Brooklyn, found an unexpected counterpart in Lea’s celestial, otherworldly vocals. Years later, they would learn of their parallel origins – a strange twist of fate echoing through their art.
Now, Monroe & She exist across borders: Matt, the Fribourgeois, based in Zurich, and Lea, calling Costa Rica home. Their music is an unbound, transatlantic force – timeless, evocative, and deeply human.
