Monz, also known as Christian Manzana is a professional musician/producer/music educator/emcee from the San Francisco, Bay Area. He holds degrees in classical music as well as a master’s in jazz with an emphasis on trombone. He also teaches as a college professor, band teacher, and privately. He works with notable groups such as the “Super Soul Bros.” a Funk/Jazz/ R&B VGM (video game music) group that has played all around the country in major events such as E3 and Anime Expo in Los Angeles. He’s toured Europe and performed in notable festivals such as “Montreux Jazz Festival” and “Jazz La Vienne”. He has also had the pleasure of playing in Aretha Franklin’s band for one of her last shows in Oakland, California.
Monz also acts a the Musical Director/Keyboard Player for a band called “The Balikbayans” which has up and coming emcee Ruby Ibarra as the front person. They’ve toured the Philippines sharing the stage with notable artists such as Robert Glasper, Taylor McFerrin, and Anomalie.
