Behind the alter-ego MoonBee you find the Danish songwriter, composer and producer Gry Colding (They/Them).
Since the MoonBee project rose from the ashes in 2017, Gry has been working on creating a musical universe centered around the rebellious act of loving Their mortal shell wholeheartedly and enshrine the process in the music along the way.
In 2019 MoonBee met the world with the first livesession “Elevate Me” followed up the first double-EP “Come Move In Another Dimension - Part I & Part II”. An EP where you could dive into MoonBees music through two different universes: On Part I with groovy indie-pop and Part II the same 6 songs re-recorded with the critically acclaimed string ensemble Who Killed Bambi.
On the debut album “Expanding Infinity” (which was released October 13, 2023) MoonBee continuously works with the double-release by making an album where the listener can dive into the extrovert hyper-pop explosion on Part I and on the introverte though grand energy on Part II.
With the song ‘Bottomless Pit’ MoonBee was chosen as one of the 9 semifinal contestants in KarriereKanonen 2023 (an acclaimed Danish talentprogramme) selected between 1300 applicants. The second single ‘Summit Up’ was chosen as Ugens Upcoming (eng.:This Weeks’s Upcoming) on the Danish national radio for 3 weeks in a row and the album was amongst others rewarded with five stars from GAFFA Denmark.
