SLEEP-DEPRIVED SLUDGE DOOM. Formed sometime between 2020 and 2023, MOPE emerged from the small town of Rimouski, Québec. Blending down-tuned riffs and jazz-inspired drumming, the band draws on themes of personal mythology, northern cold, solitude, and sleeplessness. MOPE is composed of Dominic Lechasseur (guitars & vocals), Jonathan Cloutier (bass), and Fabrice Blais Poirier (drums). With roots in the hardcore punk/metal scene spanning over 15 years, the band has now carved its own place in the sludge doom realm.
