Mother Cabrini is an amalgamation of rock inspired music from Washington Heights, New York City as well as Yonkers, New York. The five members , two of which are brothers ( Andy Tapia and Leo Tapia) , and the others (Steve Howard, Laszlo Lecroy, Jack Clark) came together as a group in attempt to encapsulate a style of songwriting similar to classic bands from the 60s and 70s, with blend of indie and alternative roots. The band decided to honor the Italian American saint Frances Xavier Cabrini , also referred to as , ‘Mother Cabrini’ partially because of their ‘spiritual affinity’, but also because they all grew up in the same area where her shrine is located in northern Manhattan. A couple of them were born and raised on Cabrini Blvd, a street that exists in Washington Heights. Their first single , ‘Far Far Away’ released on October 19th , 2023 is a pop ballad song , the first song that they wrote together as a band.
