A multi-talented Japanese artist based in Japan and France, he is a DJ/producer, keyboard/accordion player, children's book author/illustrator, poet, collage artist, and event organizer. Born in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1977, he started playing the piano at the age of three, inspired by his father, a jazz pianist and concert piano designer. He began playing the synthesizer and DJing, as well as producing house music at the age of 15, influenced by Detroit techno, acid jazz, and the Japanese techno-pop group "YMO". He studied composition and music business at a special music school in Tokyo, where Haruomi Hosono (YMO) was the president of the school, before moving to London and immersing himself in the club scene of the late 90s. In 1999, he returned to Japan and opened his own alternative cafe called "cafe the eel," which hosted many music and art events that he organized. In 2011, he moved to Paris and began working as a professional DJ, children's book author/illustrator. He has since published books in France, Switzerland, Korea, and the USA. He joined the Parisian DJ collectives "Cracki" and "Skylax" and has performed as a DJ in many clubs, bars, and museums in Paris. His music is unique and inspired by Detroit house, jazz, classical and electronic music, as well as literature, art, philosophy, and poetry. His art transcends the boundaries of genre, countries, times, and spaces.
