The North German "organ-driven heavy rock" band Mount Atlas combines modern hard rock with
Hammond organ, synthesizers, and heavy retro-doom riffs that sound as heavy as they were
played in equally heavy leather jackets. Their refreshingly distinctive and varied songs draw
influences from bands like Deep Purple, Ghost, and Black Sabbath.
Their debut album TITAN (2017) generated significant attention both in the national and
international rock scenes. This was followed by the MISTRESS EP in 2019 and the 7" vinyl single
"Magic Potion" in 2022. In 2023, their album POSEIDON garnered radio airplay, interviews, and
reviews across all relevant rock and metal magazines.
With numerous gigs across Germany, Scandinavia, and the Benelux countries, Mount Atlas has
built a substantial fanbase through passion, dedication, and craftsmanship. This has been made
possible by the five experienced musicians' "do-it-yourself" mentality and carefully selected
collaborations with underground labels, promoters, record stores, and fellow bands.
Lyrically, Mount Atlas is as multifaceted as their music. They effortlessly switch between personal
insights, fictional stories, and adventurous settings, often inspired by Greek mythology, science
fiction tales, or cult B-movies from the 1960s and 1970s.
It is this unique blend that not only excites fans of the genre but also attracts those who are
captivated by playful energy, adventurous stories, and the diverse emotions expressed in the
music.
