Mount Villa moves elegantly through an energetic and dreamy DIY universe.
The music blends modern, minimalist cruiser-pop with inspiration from 80s new wave, art rock, and synthpop — enriched with jazzy saxophone layers and textures that send melancholic rays out into space.
The project is led by danish composer and songwriter Paulo Andruszkow, who in recent years has made his mark on Copenhagen’s underground scene with projects like his lo-fi/dreampop solo project Fuji Dream and the post-punk band JUDEX. Both projects have received airplay on national radio station and have been featured in media outlets such as VICE Magazine.
Mount Villa debuted in 2024 with the album Hour of Glitter (Villa Venus), which GAFFA highlighted for its “transformative charm.” The project has also gained attention from media like Post-punk.com (Berlin) and V13 Media (Canada). Notable singles include Diorama, Wish, and No Call — the latter has received airplay on P6 BEAT.
Paulo moves freely between genres, with each project serving as a glimpse into the multi-instrumentalist’s musical laboratory — a space where experiments are transformed into atmospheric sonic universes.
