Moving is a four-piece from the Netherlands. Brothers Anne, (a chess pro disguised as a songwriter) and Bep (clearly the youngest of the bunch) started making music together as kids at home. Not long after, they befriended Elliott (50% British, 100% golden pipes) and Tim (piano player, turned jazz bassist, turned technical backbone). Music was at the heart of a friendship born in the schoolyard, and which blossomed around the kitchen table and in the city in which they grew up. Music’s magic and its endless possibilities consumed them. The friends found meaning and purpose in songs that flowed naturally from their hands. And so, inevitably, came Moving. Their new single “Apart” was the first song they ever wrote together but remains a touchstone for a sound grounded in the heart-breaking intensity and sublime melody of classic pop.
