Armed with an Akai MPC, some vinyl and limitless inspiration, mpb creates chill music with organic soul. Blurring the lines between Lo-fi, Chillhop & Boombap. His creativity comes from experimentation. He grew up in the golden era of 90's Hip Hop and was heavily influenced by Pete Rock, Dj Premier, Havoc and J Dilla. A love of Djing and collecting vinyl naturally led to producing. He currently works in his home studio in England. With a string of label releases under his belt. Who knows what the future holds! In May 2023 he released a Lofijazz track with <a href="spotify:artist:6b22WP1HSqDfgAymtdMfUb" data-name="Kindbrew">Kindbrew</a> Records called <a href="spotify:track:36CvR2mLsaeWZQNaONVFgg" data-name="You Asked For Chill">You Asked For Chill</a> In August 2022, mpbanga released a Lofi track called <a href="spotify:track:4EONyvUOv8iRZl3tNltowY" data-name="Cassette">Cassette</a> on another popular label <a href="spotify:artist:5orR9ec1E60lLb1U76m3ul" data-name="Chill Select">Chill Select</a>. This track was well received by the community and the track landed on two Spotify editorials <a href="spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX8Uebhn9wzrS" data-name="chill lofi study beats">chill lofi study beats</a> and <a href="spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX34FFwY9PsXS" data-name="In Biblioteca">In Biblioteca</a>
In April 2021, mpbanga released a Lofi Hip Hop track called <a href="spotify:track:5MxDk3QyQHFnINI3cmOOpq" data-name="Vibrations">Vibrations</a> This track beat hundreds of entries to make it to the last ten finalists on YouTube. This competition was made in association with r/LoFiHipHop on reddit (Lo-Fi High-Stakes Contest).
