Mr. Polska, born as Dominik Włodzimierz Groot on July 20, 1989, in Poland, moved to the Netherlands at a young age. His music reflects his dual heritage: a blend of Polish culture with the influences of the Dutch hip-hop and dance scene. It was in the Netherlands that he developed as an artist operating at the intersection of hip-hop and electronic music, drawing inspiration from both cultures.
In 2010, he won the State Award for Rookie Of The Year, and in 2011, he released his debut EP “De Boswachter” under the Nouveau Riche label. With the single “Vinger Op De Klitter,” he conquered the club music scene. His distinctive Dutch-language rap combined with electronic influences quickly made him a popular figure in the Dutch music scene.
In the following years, Mr. Polska collaborated with artists such as Ronnie Flex, Jebroer, and the producer trio Yellow Claw. Hits like “Niemand” and “Samen” have been streamed millions of times.
He also worked with Major Lazer and released English-language music under Diplo’s label Mad Decent.
At the same time, the artist never forgot his Polish roots and managed to build a massive fan base in Poland as well. His single “Jagodzianki” with Malik Montana has been streamed over 45 million times on Spotify. In 2022, he took over the summer charts with “Złote Tarasy” featuring Abel de Jong, which surpassed 70 million streams on Spotify. In December 2024, Mr. Polska released his new album titled “+48.”
