Mukka

Mukka is a duo formed in 2017. It consists of Guðmundur Óskar Sigurmundsson and Kristjón Hjaltested. Since then they have released three studio albums with Reykjavík Record Shop, the Last of which came out last year to good reviews. The albums are part of a ten album series the duo calls the "Study Series". Their fourth album, "Study More Nr. 4", is scheduled to be released August 20th this year.

For the release of their third album in 2023, Mukka made their live performance debut. For this they recruited fellow musicians and good friends Þorleifur Sigurlásson, Gunnar Steingrímsson and Eyþór Eyjólfsson. Mukka have since then performed a number of live shows, including venues like Harpa and Loppen in Copenhagen.

Although hard to label, their music has been described as akin to Kraut Pop or groovy elevator music. It´s filled with huge and hypnotic synth sounds, groovy and repetitive bass lines topped with lo-fi drums. Combined with visuals produced by Anton Borosak, Mukka´s live performances are sure to leave audiences in a dreamlike state.
