Mulholland Jive is the brainchild of Irish musician Ben Mulholland, a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Cambridge, UK. Performing as a 9-piece band, a rotating roster of superhuman musicians are used to bring Mulholland Jive’s lively instrumental funk-jazz-rock to life.

Mulholland Jive has performed at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Ely Arts Festival and Strawberry Fair. They have headlined The Spice Of Life in London, The John Peel Centre in Stowmarket and The Portland Arms in Cambridge. They have performed at the NMG Awards and been played on radio stations across the globe, including BBC Introducing, Banks Radio Australia and San Francisco's KXSFfm to name a few.

Mulholland Jive was nominated for ‘Track of the Year’ at the NMG Awards (Levitate) and has been in the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest 3 times (for Adrenaline Junkie, Levitate and Empire - Live), scoring full marks from the judges each time.

Mulholland Jive has released 4 EPs, including a live EP. Their most recent EP, Thunderfunk, was released in July 2024 to rave reviews. Rotate Magazine described Thunderfunk as “a masterful EP that demonstrates Mulholland Jive’s exceptional range and creativity”.
