Mum's the Word, also known as Todd Mumford, was a prolific producer and remixer -- as well as being a solo artist -- in the underground of the Los Angeles rap and hip hop scene. Getting his start as a DJ while a student at UC Santa Barbara, Mumford then went on to found the company Concentrated Entertainment with Mong Chan. The pair went to work, with Mumford remixing and producing work by such artists as Dr. OOP, Kombo, Kazi, and LMNO. At the close of the 20th century, Mumford released his first solo album, The People Mover. After producing and engineering the Murs album, Murs Rules the World, Mumford split with partner Chan, and formed the label Smoggy Day Recordings. 2002 saw his follow up album, People Keep Movin' released on the label, and eventually Mum's the Word added to his own discography with the instrumental album, Texture. ~ Chris True, Rovi
