Mundu

London native MUNDU, an R&B singer and producer with a distinctive voice, is no stranger to musical adventure. Born and raised in South London, MUNDU’s household was filled with an eclectic mix of music, which would cause him to develop his unique love for chords and harmonies.

In 2016, whilst studying at university, he released the “Qollapse” EP and the “Things That Float: Vol. 1” mixtape, filled with featuring the likes of Shakka and G.L.A.M. The following year, MUNDU made the bold decision to release self-produced music on a weekly basis, garnering a range of organic online support from the likes of Saint Heron, BBC Radio 1Xtra, MTV Wrap-Up and more independently.

In August 2018, the young creator began uploading unique acapella covers onto social media out of boredom which would prove to be a career-defining move. These raw videos comprising of experimental chord progressions and harmonies would introduce MUNDU to music lovers around the world, including prominent names such as Stormzy, WSTRN, Smino, Ray BLK, Davina McCall, Nico Segal, Nai Palm (of Hiatus Kaiyote) and many more.

The growing popularity of these acapella covers would lead to MUNDU working with Ghanaian DJ/Producer Juls on the “No Lie” record from his most recent effort, Colour, which also featured the likes of Che Lingo, Knucks and XamVolo. Following this, MUNDU returned to the stage to deliver an electrifying opening set for the aforementioned wordsmith, Che Lingo, at the infamous Jazz Cafe in London.
