MÜNYA, the sonic alias of Zambian-born artist Nchimunya Kabunda, blends alt-rock, punk, and experimental sounds into emotionally charged anthems. His music is raw and intense, driven by distorted vocals and gritty textures that capture the complexity of human emotion. Refusing to be confined by genre, MÜNYA combines punk energy, pop hooks, and rock spirit, creating music that feels like both a confrontation and a confession.

In 2023, MÜNYA released his debut EP If I’m Lying I’m Flying, exploring themes of grief and personal reckoning. His upcoming sophomore EP, PRONOIA, embraces spiritual awakening and the belief that the universe is always in your favor.

Influenced by contemporary artists like Rosalía, Jean Dawson, and Dominic Fike, and drawing inspiration from the 2000s MTV TRL era, MÜNYA’s sound is characterised by fragmented, experimental textures that reflect the chaos and beauty of the human experience. Self-recorded, self-taught, and unapologetically raw, MÜNYA’s music invites listeners to join him on a journey toward emotional freedom and creative expression.
