Formed in February of 2000 by Russ Crossman (guitar), Ryan Hall (guitar), and Tony Cosgrove (drums), Detroit, Michigan's Mutilated was originally known as "Decapitator" and performs hyper-technical grindcore with disgusting lyrics รก la <a href="spotify:artist:0yLwGBQiBqhXOvmTfH2A7n">Cannibal Corpse</a>. After a vocal-free first demo, the group recruited vocalist Justin Emery in time for their first shows in 2001, supporting the similarly extreme <a href="spotify:artist:34PPy9Ut9m8qB8BnmCiVmO">Mortician</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2OjtmMho2pBS86zQ1PliRu">Exhumed</a>.
