MVP Band is optimizing their collective talents as the hardworking group of creators continues to harmonize in music and in life. The band was formed in 2008 by Jimmy “Boo” Hill Jr., co-founder and drummer and Jevon Hill, co-founder, vocalist, and music director. MVP Band also consists of AJ Jones, the bass and keyboard player, and Alex Hill, the keyboard player, arranger, and support lead—all of them born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Their shared regard for family has helped bind the bandmates as figurative brothers, and it has allowed them to enjoy their individual successes without fear of diminishing one another and the band’s collective success. As a group, MVP Band has an extensive discography including many of today’s most prominent and award-winning Gospel and R&B artists—Chris Brown, Tank, Fantasia, Dave Hollister, Tamela Mann, Tye Tribbett, LeAndria Johnson, and a host of others. The band caught the eye of Fantasia Barrino in 2008 after the multiple-award winning songstress saw the band, and they went on to become her touring band. From there, the band crossed paths with R&B vocalist Tank, and they remain his personal touring band. Prior to forming MVP Band, Jevon co-founded a production trio, The Co-Captains, in 2007. The production team has produced songs across genres—Travis Barker, Mario, Nelly, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and more—and has been Grammy-nominated.
