Formed in a basement flat in Hackney, London, around 2010 by Rob Challens, Stephen Challens and Rich Thornton, my single line drew influences from their new city lives, soundtracked by bands such as <a href="spotify:artist:1qcU8NabUQ5efQf8UGW6CV" data-name="The Whitest Boy Alive">The Whitest Boy Alive</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3pTE9iaJTkWns3mxpNQlJV" data-name="Bombay Bicycle Club">Bombay Bicycle Club</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:37uLId6Z5ZXCx19vuruvv5" data-name="Hot Chip">Hot Chip</a>.
The band wrote and rehearsed between their flat and The Roundhouse, Camden where they also recorded some early material. Touring was done through back rooms of London venues and That EP! was self-released and handed out on CDs, with production coming from new drummer and musical wizard Dickie Hughes.
The live version of the group disbanded in 2012, but Rob and Rich continued to make music, releasing the synth-driven Corsham Dance ep the same year. The three songs on the ep follow the rise and fall of the notorious Corsham house, the dynamics between its members and sub-members, and the infamous parties that shook those walls.
Rob continued to write and record music in his bedroom over the following years, inspired by the waves of life and using music as language of expression. Songs were initially released individually but have now been grouped into two albums; Clutter (earlier work) and Were Those The Days? (more recent tunes).
There is more music in the pipeline.
