Mya Francis was discovered while singing Gospel in her local church in East London.
Her love for Gospel Music as well as her eclectic musical tastes, saw that her love for 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s music ranging from RnB, Garage and House, Neo Soul, Reggae and of course Gospel allowed her to develop an ear for harmonies and melodies alike.
The soulful teenager was quickly taken under the wing of producer Steve Manovski (Sigala, Tiësto, Machine Gun Kelly) who guided her and develop Mya into a vocalist who know how to mould the feel of her gospel origin into a fresh and current style that fits perfectly on house beats.
This is particularly evident on her debut single with Jack Back (David Guetta) & N.F.I - “Case OF The Ex”, a cover of the monster hit by her name-sake Mya.
