Mylder

Mylder is an alternative folk-songwriter, columnist and book dealer based in Copenhagen. His music hinges its inspiration on the folkmusic revival of the 60’ies and 70’ies, together with a fascination of Shoegaze, the sound of wide open Dream Pop and the subtlety of slowcore vocals.

Lyrically the songs are a collection of poems that, among other things, convey an idea of relief. Relief from weird exams and relief from the conditional acceptance that those entail in private and public spaces. The lyrics have explicit and hinting themes of LGBT+ issues together with mental health dynamics, philosophy and the love of nature.

Simon, the non-alias name of Mylder, has gotten critical acclaim from Danish music magazine GAFFA who also nominated him twice in the categories New Release and New Artist Of The Year in 2024. Besides this he has played on the stages of Copenhagen small and large while being an activist for queer representation in the Danish music business.
