There's something in the Brooklyn air that keeps people musically inclined and elevated in the region. It has birthed many great legends from all genres including Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, Jay-z, Notorious BIG, etc. The trend of exceptional artists emerging from Brooklyn seems to be continue with Brooklyn born artist "Mystery." Mystery is an upcoming artist from the Brownsville section of Brooklyn who is bringing a new sound and package to the hip-hop world. His name is an acronym standing for: Mastering YourSelf Through Excellence and Righteousness Youthfully. That's exactly what Mystery is doing as he is involved in all aspects of his creative process. He is not only a rapper; he is the definition of a studio artist. He has been writing his own songs, producing/co-producing his own music, and recording himself since 2003. He even got a formal education in audio engineering & digital media arts at Bloomfield College, City College and Touro College. His first taste of success came in 2009 when Mystery was signed to independent label Asqui Music Group. Since then, his sound has been consistently evolving and he has now mastered something he calls "ILL music". Inspired by the extreme experiences throughout his childhood, Mystery uses his music as a positive alternative to work and to motivate others coming from similar circumstances to chase their dreams.
