The New Mexico native rapper Shane Johnson or N1L3 (Nile) is a genre anomaly, he is an artist who tends to hop from hard hitting rap songs such as <a href="spotify:album:015dQSHn6GsnFZY4MGYDuF" data-name="Sad Bois">Sad Bois</a> to song with simply a guitar and his voice ( <a href="spotify:track:5zB7BXyYJDIRV7Smfr0r8M" data-name="Guess I Won't K.M.S (Interlude)">Guess I Won't K.M.S (Interlude)</a> ). N1L3 was raised in a home that was very musically oriented, he says “there’s not a room in that house with out an instrument”. At the age of 7 he was introduced to rap with song by Lil Wayne and Kanye West. In N1L3s later years he would go on to listen to many other artists (ie. Green Day, Eminem, All American Rejects, etc.) these artist would all come to influence his songs and style. The “emo rap” genre stuck with him and is his favorite style thanks to artist like Juice Wrld and XXXTENTACION giving him inspiration when he first began to create music. All of these influences to N1L3s music help direct his creative process.
