N4E Jelani

N4E Jelani suddenly had a stroke as a healthy 23 year old on July 5, 2022 in which he lost his ability to speak. He prayed to God to heal him and he miraculously gained the ability to articulate his words again. N4E Jelani had already been accustomed to writing poems and previously was recording spoken word poetry over music. He didn’t rap because it didn’t feel authentic. However, he contemplated branching into rap because he wanted to tell people about the truth of God and he believed he could reach more people through music than poetry. In early 2023, N4E Jelani had a dream where Jesus Christ spoke to him to do music which gave him the courage and faith to take a leap into music. He quickly started working on a debut project called He Is Mighty or HIM which is the meaning of the name “Jelani” in Swahili. This album title was chosen to testify the truth N4E Jelani found that Jesus Christ is mighty, yet since it also is the meaning of his name, the album is a story of his own life in which he testifies of the might of HIM—Jesus Christ—through the lens of his own experiences. He released his first single Love Dreams on July 5, 2025 to commemorate the day July 5, 2022 when he lost his speech due to a stroke. This was to remind himself of why he makes music and that if it hadn’t been for God giving him his speech back, he wouldn’t be able to rap. N4E Jelani founded Nothing 4 Everything, a creative communications company, and committed himself to create to help people heal.
