Nahovi is a Berlin-based artist with a great love for funk, soul, hip hop, jazz, bossa nova and classical music from the Romantic era. He sees himself primarily as a dancer in styles such as breaking, locking and soul dance, house and contemporary. Even as a child, he was at home between cultures – with classical violin lessons and boys' choir on the one hand, and breaking in youth centres and making rap beats on the other. Later and studying at UdK (Berlin), he became more involved with jazz and blues, mainly through the piano and viola, writing arrangements and his own compositions for string and vocal ensembles.
All of this now flows into his music. Inspired by artists such as D'angelo, Jill Scott, Aaron Frazer, Andersen .Paak and Jalen Ngonda, Nahovi searches for his own feeling. Groovy, soulful and with a preference for harmonically rich viola and backing sections. Nahovi does not tell a specific story in his music, he tells a danceable attitude to life.
