In 2016, the very talented singer and double bassist Naïma Girou reunites Jules Le Risbé (piano), John Owens (guitar) and Thomas Doméné (drums). Based in the south of France the Quartet win the Crest Jazz Festival in 2017 and begin to tour across the country. "Sea of Red", their first album was released in 2019. Co-composed and arranged by the four musicians this album takes its roots from the North American Jazz of the 50s and 60s (Betty Carter, John Coltrane, Abbey Lincoln, Horace Silver, Sarah Vaughan...) and in the same time reveals the modern inspiration of the band.
This balance between tradition and modernity is even more obvious in their news album "Zephyr" to come on March 2021. "Zephir to My Flame" and "Miroir", the singles of the the new album are good examples.
