Nakatama is a Japanese Rock and EDM artist with over 23 years of experience in the music
industry. Influenced by renowned guitarists Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen, as well as
contemporary pop artists like Avril Lavigne, Nakatama layers electronic synths and drums with
soft grand piano notes to create uplifting, energizing music for listeners of all ages.
A life-long guitarist, he has many fond memories of learning to play the instrument. One time, he
found a classical guitar in his house; it belonged to his father. Nakatama didn’t know anything
about classical guitars, so he put acoustic guitar strings on it. He practiced on it every day,
discovering that fretting the ‘F’ chord was particularly difficult. Then one day, suddenly, the neck
of the guitar broke!
Nakatama believes that, no matter what, there will be both good times and bad times in our
lives. Eventually, every good thing has to come to an end. Still, we should have courage and
keep moving forward, one step at a time. Using these thoughts as inspiration, Nakatama
composed a song called “ Brave ”. Released on December 20th, 2018, the track illustrates the
ups and downs of life, with a piano solo in the middle representing a momentary break in the
good times.
On April 19th, 2019, he released another single, the football-themed “ Goal ”, and he has even
more releases planned for the future. He hopes to one day tour the world, performing his songs
live with the support of all his fans.
