Nakodoshy (Oscar Álvarez), born in Monterrey, Mexico, is an artist deeply connected to his roots, a connection he proudly reflects in his music. Initially drawn to 1970s American rock before falling in love with the local scene, particularly the iconic Avanzada Regia movement.
Nakodoshy’s musical journey began with the founding of the band 40 Decibeles, which led him to perform on some of the most emblematic stages in the city, such as Café Iguana and Arena Monterrey, sharing venues with renowned groups like Jumbo and Inspector.
A new chapter began when Nakodoshy moved to Europe, where he has lived for over a decade. However, despite the distance, the nostalgia for the music and culture of Monterrey never left him. This longing inspired him to create his new EP, Retroceso Regio, a heartfelt tribute to the alternative pop-rock sounds and memories of his homeland. With this project, Nakodoshy seeks to give back some of what Monterrey gave him, blending the essence of his hometown with his unique and evolved sound.
