A certified Jersey Girl, this Afro-Latina artist prides herself on creating experiences and changing the dynamic of the average R&B song.. She sings over melodic melodies that are deeply intertwined with R&B, upbeat and her love for bringing each track she creates to life.
From a young age, Nanii has always been performing and did her first solo performance at just 6 years old. While enrolled in college at St. John’s University, Nanii graced stages while dancing and landing roles in musicals. We all know that great things take time, and Nanii has been slowly working on her career to ensure that a sultry eclectic vibe is made that resonates with her listeners. In 2017 her first single, “Sittin Sideways” was released and daring as 2020 had been for many, it led to Nanii releasing her first EP Golden Hold, Vol. 1 and two singles “I’m Good” and “Mas”.
A distinctive artist with a strong pen, making her a gifted songwriter; she has already collaborated with pianist Teddyfx, engineer grammy nominated Micheal Ashby, DJ Nick Seale and Justice Samari. In 2023, Nanii was seen on The Late Show w/ Stephen Colbert, BET Awards performing with the Grammy nominated star, Davido. Speaking of grammy nominations, she has also sang background for Afrobeat stars Asake and Ayra Starr. Influenced by the likes of Selena, Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill, the musical infusion that is Nanii Acosta is sure to touch your soul in the most calming way.
