Narendra Raj Regmi is widely celebrated as a senior Deuda singer, deeply rooted in the folk traditions of Far-Western Nepal. He hails from Bajhang District, a region recognized for its vibrant Deuda music and cultural legacy.
His ascent to fame began in the late 1980s, particularly in 1989, when he released the politically charged Deuda song “Chaeer Musi Chaeer”, which imparted a poignant critique of the Panchayat regime amidst the growing momentum of Nepal’s People’s Movement .Over decades, he has composed, written, and performed more than 1000 songs related Sangeet Saugat named, enriching the Deuda tradition with his lyrical and musical contributions .
