The journey of Narrow Way began on the campus of Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida, where four friends—Brandon Trout, Jesse Barley, Jerry Tesch, and Thayne Washburn—were brought together by a shared love of a cappella music and a deep desire to glorify God. In those early years—beginning in 2003—they sang together in campus concerts, chorus programs, and talent shows, sometimes under the name “20+Sunshine,” along with friends Randy Goff, Travis Burch, and Jady Copeland.
In 2005, a simple home recording made for a friend’s wedding began circulating among friends and congregations. That recording eventually reached Jay Conner, composer of the hymn I Close My Eyes. With the generous support of Jay and his wife, Carol Joy, the group was given the opportunity to record their first full-length album—and Narrow Way was born.
Since then, Narrow Way has released 3 albums (Narrow Way (2009), RISE (2012), Shelter Me (2015) and 1 EP (Eternals, Volume 1 (2017).
Each project was created with one aim: to comfort and encourage God’s people, and to glorify Him. These hymns have now been shared in over 100+ countries. To God be the glory!
In 2023, after many years, Brandon stepped away from the group. Bryce Cline joined soon after, continuing the work alongside Jesse, Jerry, and Thayne.
We sing to lift up truth, to stir faith, and to draw others closer to the One who deserves all praise.
