Nasía Konitopoúlou is the daughter of the late master of island music and legendary teacher, Giorgos Konitopoulos. With deep musical roots and a family legacy in traditional Greek island songs, she naturally followed her father’s path. She began singing alongside him while still in school and later studied music at the Skalkotas Conservatory.
Her recording debut came in 1985 with the album Thalassines Agapes, followed by her first solo release in 1989, Sto Parathyri Provale. Collaborations with her father and uncle, Vaggelis Konitopoulos, led to significant albums including Nisiotika – Syrtoi & Baloi (1990) and Egiamo-la-Gia (1991). She also joined Giannis Parios on a tribute album to her father.
Renowned for her unique voice and lively performances, Nasía earned the titles “The Nightingale of the Aegean” and “The Grand Lady of Island Music.” Her discography includes works by famous composers like Antonis Vardis, Christos Nikolopoulos, Pantelis Thalassinos, and Giannis Parios.
She has performed with many iconic Greek artists in top venues and festivals. She also studied acting at the Higher Drama School of Iasmos. Since April 2021, she has been with G Music, releasing fresh island songs like Sta Nisia, which quickly gained popularity on YouTube.
