Singer-songwriter Nate Gusakov lives with his family in the mountains of Vermont and splits time between a day job, hunting and farmsteading, and making music. On his latest EP 'Many Mountains', he wields a solid-body electric banjo, transmuted through pedal board and vintage tubes into an instrument with capabilities that range far beyond his usual open-back acoustic 5-string.
Nate has been playing his signature styles of acoustic clawhammer and 3-finger banjo for 15 years around his home state and New England. Recently he’s begun exploring new directions in sound, both with his songwriting and instrumentally with an electric banjo and loop pedals. He has performed at regional venues such as The Flynn Theater, Club Passim, Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, and the Ripton Coffeehouse. Nate has recorded or appeared with many of VT’s best musicians including Jon Fishman, Jamie Masefield, The Bengsons, Moira Smiley, Michael Chorney, and many many others.
