Nathalie Ezmeralda

Nathalie Ezmeralda is an Indonesian born and raised singer songwriter. After moving to Sydney to study music, she started doing performances from busking to doing gigs. Somewhere along the way she picked up songwriting and has independently released songs since.

Her songwriting is based around her own experiences and views of the world. She finds that there are many neglected topics in current songs, and believes that it is crucial for them to be revived. She came to this realization after finding it difficult to relate to songs she was frequently listening to.

What about genre and influences?
It’s a mixture of all of the songs from her parents’ and grandparents’ glory days with a dash of pop. This ranges from disco to jazz, honestly it's a hot mess of whatever sounds nice. So don’t be surprised to find hints of music you love in her songs and lyrics.

Ultimately Nathalie understands the magnitude of music’s power, which is why she hopes her songs bring joy and positive influences to her listener’s lives. If her listeners find space where they feel seen and enjoys her music as much as she enjoys making them, then she has considered her purpose accomplished.
