National Service

National Service formed in 2015, from previous projects, school friendships, and introductions at Goldsmiths University.


The band were prebiously with legendary indie label Fierce Panda and in January 2017 and released their first single, <a href="spotify:album:7yoZ4ykLZNsS0Dugmlis14" data-name="A Little More Time">A Little More Time</a> to cult acclaim. Their follow up <a href="spotify:track:73iWMOzX7WzAeWkG8errFn" data-name="Timid Kisses">Timid Kisses</a> was BBC 6 track of the week and was Steve Lamacq&#39;s National Anthem.


2018&#39;s exploratory &#39;Foreign Love EP&#39; was followed up with the shimmering &#39;Meltwater EP&#39; in 2019. Vocalist Fintan Campbell describes the work: “It’s lusher, angrier, more urgent, with deeper layers of instrumentation, more ambitious production, more collaborative composition and more expansive. We felt it was definitely a strong manifesto in terms of what to expect from a live show.”


Live highlights include supports of Man of Moon, To Kill a King &amp; Broken Records.


2020 saw the release of standalone single &#39;Caving&#39;, with further significant airtime and positive write-ups. The track pays tribute to the rhythm sections of Interpol &amp; Radiohead, with droning guitars a la Joy Division &amp; the Twilight Sad, coupled with the signature heart-on-sleeve musings of Campbell&#39;s baritone. A follow-up cover of &#39;Last January&#39; by the aforementioned Twilight Sad followed as a lockdown project celebrating Fierce Panda&#39;s 27th birthday.


The band have just released their first single from new E.P &#34;Milktooth&#34; which also titled the same has recieved great press from CLASH, MUSIC CROWNS, CLOUT, FLEX and more.
