Formed in 1985 in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, Necromancia made a name as one of the country’s earliest exponents of thrash metal. In 1988 their fame until then localized was spread wider thanks to the release on Fucker Records of an appearance they had made the previous year at a concert at Santo André’s Municipal Theatre. Although other bands shared the concert and the album, it was Necromancia who made the most impact. Among early band members were Marcelo Indio Di Castro (guitar/vocals), Roberto Fornero (bass), and Kiko Di Castro, Edgar ‘Budega’ Gerbelli and César ‘Fubeka’ (percussion). In the mid-90s percussionist André Cayres joined the group.
