Hailing from Long Beach, Nectarines make music that is slightly Goth, with a vibe that feels a bit like The Pixies on codeine. Glorious, honeyed, heavy, and rhythmic, Nectarines recall a simpler time, a time when clove cigarettes, asymmetrical haircuts, and dark fashion told you were in the right place, and then the band kicked in and there was no question. This is music that was made for introspective dancing. Started when So Many Wizards front man Nima Kazerouni met drummer Allie Bumstead and jamming ensued... followed by more jamming, interspersed between So Many Wizards releases, then life, then a move back to the neighborhood, and finally a circling of the troops; including Nima Kazerouni on lead vox/guitar, Allie Bumsted on drums, plus the all-female backing of Jackie Yates on keys, Zeynep Graves on bass and the recently added Rachel Rufrano on lead guitar. They call it a passion project, and it was born over coffee, beer, and broken hearts." ---Fingerprints Records
