Neon is an ambient / experimental / modern classical band which was founded in Athens, Greece in 2004. After the completion of their first demo, very quickly, they signed with POETA NEGRA label and their first release (AU THEATRE DES SONS IMAGINAIRES) came out in September of 2006.
Their next release (LE CHEF–D’–OEUVRE INCONNU) came out in September of 2007 as the soundtrack to the self – titled theatrical play inspired by the novel of Honore – de – Balzac. The CD was released by ALTRA TERRA theatrical company and some months later, in spring of 2008, a new CD was released for the soundtrack of another theatrical play, ‘LA JETEE’, based on the legendary 1962 Chris Marker movie.
‘MORPHEE’ was released by Creative Space recordings the February of 2010. The album contained six tracks, three original and three covers by classic composers: Erik Satie, Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy.
In 2012 followed “Kathe pragmatikotis, apokroustiki” (released by Inner ear) which marked the band's first attempt to songwriting. All songs' lyrics were poems of Greek poet Kostas Kariotakis.
Their last album, “Riverbank” was released by Ikaros records in 2019, containing one instrumental and seven songs in a completely new style.
Throughout the years Neon worked in theatre (both plays and dance) and in cinema and are considered a landmark in Greece's electronic scene.
