Marko Lasić, AKA Nered, is a seminal figure in the Croatian hip-hop scene, known for his impactful lyricism, socio-political commentary, and influential collaborations. Emerging in the late 1990s as a member of the Blackout Crew, a pivotal force in shaping the underground rap movement in Zagreb, Nered quickly established himself as a key voice in the region’s evolving hip-hop culture.

His most notable early success came through the duo Nered & Stoka, formed with fellow rapper Marin Ivanović (Stoka). Their 1999 album Spremni za Rat (“Ready for War”) became a cornerstone of Croatian hip-hop, blending gritty street narratives with aggressive beats and confrontational style. This collaboration positioned them as pioneers of the genre in the post-war Balkans, articulating the frustrations and realities of youth through a raw and direct lens.

Over the years, Nered’s work has been marked by consistency in quality and relevance. His ability to evolve stylistically while remaining rooted in authentic street culture has allowed him to remain influential across generations.
