Nervously Modern is the sound of two grown-up misfits — Andrea Capizzi, a former electro producer with a soft spot for melancholic melodies and Kate Carpenter, a psychedelic-folk singer with a wild heart and a sweet voice.
They met in 2023 and decided to turn their mysterious, anarchic and confused pasts into heartfelt ballads that echo across generations.
Acoustic at heart, with occasional electronic ghosts, their songs whisper of Velvet Underground, Jessica Pratt, Isobel Campbell, and Cowboy Junkies — but with a voice all their own.
