Neu’Raye (L. Charleston IV) is an award-winning songwriter, music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist from Michigan. Continuing to hone his craft, he inspires many through his Christmas, Contemporary Christian/Gospel, R&B/Soul, R&B/Pop, Film/TV and other styles of music. He's a neurologist, headache specialist, and speaker. He also combines original live music and motivational speaking in Keynote Concerts (www.DrCharlestonKeynoteConcerts.com).
Neu’Raye has been recognized by the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s (NSAI) Awards and Recognition System as “One to Watch” in 2014, 2015, and 2021 on 4 songs in different genres. He has placed a number times in several songwriting contests including in Mid-Atlantic Song Contests and Song of the Year Contests with songs in multiple genres including Rock. Although he concentrates on songwriting/production working mostly in the studio, his gifts may occasionally lend to performances across on the stage. In fact, he was a finalist (top 19 of 200+) in w4country FM 102.9's 2024 w4countryidol in Chelsea, MI. However, songwriting and production is his forte. He has been noticed by local press due to his diverse (Christian, R&B, Jazz, Pop) performances in the Songwriters Grounded In Grace New Songs Concert. In 2016, he founded the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor (now Southeast Michigan) Regional NSAI Chapter and served as a chapter coordinator until stepping down in 2024.
